The Kardashian sisters make Armenian Pancakes

Did you ever wonder what Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe Kardashian like to cook? Apparently millions of people do. They have a family-secret recipe, Beeshee, an Armenian pancake, that they wrote about recently. But sharing the recipe with their adoring public was another matter.

Minna, an enterprising Kardashian fan, googled the word “Beeshee” but found nothing. Then she found my website, but not the recipe, so she wrote to me asking if I had a recipe for this Armenian pancake. (This was my first Kim Kardashian- related recipe request. Considering how the Kardashian’s are expressing their Armenian-ism these days, I’m surprised no one ever tried to connect them with before. This is a first!)

Minna wrote:  “Hi, I was reading the Kardashian sisters were making an Armenian pancake. They called it BeeShee. Here is what Kourtney wrote maybe you can find and post the recipe as I have googled beeshee to no avail and she says she will not share the recipe as it’s a family secret.

” making my famous Armenian breakfast called Beeshee. My grandmother on my dad’s side taught me how to make it and I am the only person in our family who knows how. You have to make it the night before, let the dough rise, and then prepare it in the morning, which Khloe always does. So we do it together as a team effort haha. Because it is a bit of a process, we only make it on special occasions, and every year for Father’s Day, my dad would ask us to make him Beeshee…and of course we always did. It is so delicious and fattening! It’s basically like a thin, crispy fried pancake that you pour tons of sugar on.’    Thanks.”

I was surprised when Minna couldn’t find Beeshee (I spelled it B-i-s-h-i) on my website because I’d written about it back in November, as a request by reader Margie. After sending the recipe, Margie made it, and took photos, which we posted on the blog.

The reason Minna couldn’t find it was because I never linked the recipe name to the story. My mistake; sorry!

I’m sure this recipe can’t be too different from the Kardashian’s.

So, Minna, and the rest of you Kardashian fans, check out the recipe, try it, and let know how you like it. We’d love to hear your comments.

For the record, I have long lobbied for more attention to the Kardashians. Thank you!

Please, no more attention to those (bleep) (bleep) (bleep)s! Isn't it enough that Ms. Kourtney decided to hold her mega Las Vegas birthday pool party on April 24????? What makes them Armenian again, exactly???

If we are going to have Armenian celebrities, why can't we have more like System of a Down, or writers like Chris Bohjalian or Ara Baliozian, rather than a trio of Paris Hilton wannabes?

Why are we hating on them for the Kardashians being proud of their Armenian heritage? I'm proud of mine! I'm sorry, but like it or not, more people are interested in Armenian traditions, culture and food because of the Kardashians. Quit being so jealous.

Amen!!!! They need to quit complaining.

The Kardashians are vulgar, uneducated trash and Kim is famous for a porno tape where she is urinated upon. These women are a total disgrace to all Armenians and to Americans in general. Having the taste, dignity and decency to call them what they are does not make you "jealous."

Where is the recipe? It's not with this particular article?

In the first paragraph, click on the blue phrase "Armenian pancake" and that will take you to the story where the recipe is.

For crying out loud, this blog belongs to the blog owners. Not to you naysayers. She wrote about the pancake, she now writes about a request she received related to the Kardashians, and she can't link the two and use the appropriate buzz words to bring readers to her blog who want the recipe without getting grief from you people?! That's her right, that's using SEO effectively, and that's giving people who want the recipe, what they want. Give me a break…and go write your own blogs and stop commenting on matters which annoy you. It will make you feel better and will make the comments shorter. Thanks, Armenian Kitchen, for helping others find what they were looking for — no matter WHAT keywords they used.

I'm very interested in this culture of food. I googled it brought me to this. It looked good and I will try this soon. Stop hating on the Kardashians. Let them be proud of their heritage.
