If you find fresh chickpeas, you can eat them as-is, like sunflower or pumpkin seeds. Just peel and eat.

I love it! Chick peas, one of my favorite foods, yet I've not eaten a fresh one. Perhaps now we'll see more of them at the markets.
Gina, Check your local farmer's market for fresh chickpeas. I found some at Maria's Produce on Hypoluxo Rd. east of Military Trail, but call first to see when they're available.
